Personal thoughts from my reading

The sound of the bugle…

I read today in I Corinthians 14:8 the following:
 "And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound who will get ready for battle?"

I have a concern for our nation and for the people who are being misled by the false messages of our culture. I have a burden to sound a Warning Trumpet to alert people of the approaching danger in our time. That is why I have created this web site and am sharing these thoughts. I have truly found the greatest meaning in my life through a relationship with the man who claimed to be God — Jesus of Nazareth.

My heart as I read the passage above was to ask that I might effectively sound a warning. May my voice not be indistinct but sound clear so that people take note and become aware that God is our hope — not the false messages of the man-focused ideologies that reject You.

I pray — Lord, please bring a spiritual awakening to our land and draw many to faith in Jesus the Christ. May I be a faithful messenger and sound the Warning Trumpet so that people discover Your message that brings life — not the death of evil ideologies.

God perfects that which concerns me.

I read in Psalm 138:8 —
“The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.”

I am the work of God’s hands. He is my Creator and I am told that He knew me and saw me before I was born.

That means that He has a plan for my life that will bring Him glory. He has prepared me and given me the gifts and talents that I will need to do what He wants me to do in this life. The things that will honor Him.

I am the work of His hands and He will not forsake me, but preserve me and perfect all that concerns me in life for His glory.

I thank God for caring about me and watching over me in every area. It is my desire to honor God and point others to Christ and to His Truth.

Confronting those who oppose truth.

In Acts 13 Paul is presenting the Gospel to Sergius Paulus, the Pro Consul of Paphos, but a sorcerer, Elymus, sought to turn the Pro Consul away from the faith. This is what Paul said to him:

“O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?”

There are many people today who seek to turn people away from faith in Jesus Christ. Because an accurate understanding of the reality of who Jesus is and claimed to be is so important, we as Christ-followers need to boldly confront the lies as strongly as Paul does here.

Ideologies and philosophies that focus on man rather on the truth that God has revealed are full of deceit and fraud, and are the enemy of righteousness.

May we have boldness to stand against the lies of ideologies that deny Christ and mislead so many in our culture today. May we also proclaim the truth that brings wisdom and life.
