ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Allow me to introduce myself and share what matters most in my life.
My name is Pat Pearce.
I grew up in church, there almost every time the doors were open. Yet for me, church was routine. If the gospel was ever clearly presented during those years, I completely missed it.
When I left for college, I was free to make my own choices — and I chose a life that had nothing to do with church. I thought Christianity was nothing more than a list of rules:
- If you want to do it — don’t.
- If you don’t want to do it — do it.
- And if you make yourself miserable enough on earth, maybe you’ll get to heaven when you die.
That view was shattered my sophomore year when another student — a brand-new Christian — shared a little booklet with me called the Four Spiritual Laws.
To be honest, I wasn’t looking for religion. I pushed back hard with every objection I could think of. What I really resisted was the idea of anyone else running my life but me.
But something about Jesus’ claims — that He was God in human form — hit me in a way I had never considered. For the first time, I realized He was offering not rules, but a way to know God personally.
I wrestled with that for weeks. I read and reread that little booklet, still unwilling to surrender. But I noticed something in the lives of other students who openly followed Christ. There was a difference — something real.
Finally, I came to a crossroads: if Jesus truly was who He claimed to be — God Himself, Creator of all — then I had no choice but to let Him take His rightful place in my life.
That decision changed everything. The moment I yielded to Him, God’s Spirit came to live within me. My desires began to shift. My perspective changed. I could suddenly see through the empty promises of the world that never bring lasting peace. I had been born spiritually — and I wanted others to discover the same hope.
My Journey
Campus Crusade for Christ (now called Cru) helped me take my first steps in faith. They grounded me in my relationship with Christ and equipped me to share Him with others.
Life then took me in many directions. I served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer in Vietnam, where I confronted the harsh realities of Marxism, Socialism, and Communism. Later, I worked in television advertising in Birmingham, Alabama. Through my church, I became involved in the I Found It! evangelism campaign, coordinating media outreach across the city. For the first time, I realized I could use my professional skills in media for God’s purposes — and that thought never left me.
In 1977, my wife and I joined the staff of Campus Crusade. What began as a two-year commitment turned into a 40-year adventure. We served in California, Georgia, and beyond — producing resources, distributing the JESUS Film, and even publishing the Four Spiritual Laws booklet, the very tool God had used to lead me to Christ.
Looking back, I’m still amazed that God took an ordinary person like me and gave me the privilege of helping others discover Him.
Why I Started This Website
Even though I am now retired, my purpose hasn’t changed. The relationship I began with Christ in college is still the most important part of my life. I’ve found something so valuable I cannot keep it to myself.
In recent years, I’ve been deeply struck by Ezekiel 33, where God warns the watchman on the city wall: if he sees danger but fails to sound the trumpet, the people’s blood will be on his hands.
That’s why I launched Warning Trumpet.
I believe danger is approaching. Our nation has lost its spiritual footing, and many people — even in churches — lack the assurance of a real relationship with God. At the same time, destructive ideologies like Humanism, Postmodernism, Progressivism, Socialism, and Communism are leading people further from the truth revealed by our Creator.
The Bible tells us plainly:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
This is more than politics, culture, or philosophy — it is a spiritual war. And the stakes are eternal.
My desire is to point others to the truth that Jesus Himself declared:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Through this site, I want to sound the trumpet — to warn of dangers, yes, but even more to point to the hope, peace, and new life found only in Christ.
If you have never begun a personal relationship with Him, I encourage you to explore the same message that changed my life all those years ago: [CLICK HERE for the Four Spiritual Laws ]
I invite you to join me here at the Warning Trumpet — to listen, consider, and perhaps take the same step of faith that turned my life around. Together, let’s seek the wisdom and truth of God in a world that desperately needs it.
